Mom of boy of 14 tells

Our son has always been different from other children. And because he has always hated attending school, and only did the bare minimum, we never considered that he might be gifted. For a long time, he just kept to himself, weighed down by bullying and unhappiness. When we realized that, a battle started that lasted for years, where we experienced standing alone against a school, who never managed to help our boy, never listened to us, and never kept the agreements that were supposed to support and foster his well-being. By the end he felt so terrible that he had stomachaches daily and was vomiting. We decided we had to do something, and by a stroke of luck we found Grith and Johnnie.

He got WISC tested and World Game tested and was found to be gifted. Since then, he has been in therapy at Grith’s, because his past has really damaged his self-esteem and anxiety levels.

Grith has been amazing to him. She has been his savior. It feels like having been thrown out of a plane, and then suddenly being caught. Grith explains to him step by step how he is put together. And that has been a big help.

Now we are just waiting for him to get better, and looking forward to the day, when he is somewhere in his life, where he is thriving.
