Assessment of Giftedness, Cognitive Profile, and Well-being

Gifted Institute specializes in the assessment of giftedness. Giftedness is closely linked to how an individual qualitatively experiences the world. To understand gifted children and youth, as well as how they thrive and function best in the world, an assessment must explore more than just intelligence. We aim to approach everyone who comes to the institute with a holistic perspective, where the environment is non-clinical and focused on meeting the child or youth where they are.

Through our assessments, we provide insight into the inner life concerning self-esteem, anxiety levels, melancholic tendencies, temperament variations, diverse intelligence types, inter-hemispheric brain collaboration, reasoning processes, reflective thinking abilities, communication patterns, perfectionistic tendencies, and the extent of their emotional and sensory experiences. We also explore aspects like imagination, catastrophic thinking, mental pressure, racing thoughts, verbal pressure, rapid speech, or psychomotor agitation.

Our work also focuses on identifying potential markers for other challenges, including dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, ADHD, autism, or OCD. If an assessment reveals markers for specific diagnoses, this will be mentioned in the feedback, possibly along with a recommendation for further action.

Gifted Institute does not conduct evaluations and therefore does not provide diagnoses.

Gifted Institute offers assessment using the WPPSI, WISC-V, and WAIS-IV to assess the cognitive profiles of children, adolescents, and adults. The institute specializes in testing individuals with atypical profiles; those who are asynchronously developed; twice-exceptional individuals. The assessment is conducted in a secure environment by experienced professionals, and the summary and report are prepared by the institute's psychologists, all of whom are trained to identify gifted and twice-exceptional children and adolescents.

The institute also offers consultation and discussions based on existing test results.

In addition to the mentioned cognitive assessment tools, we utilize Raven's, BASC, OE, Beck Youth, ASRS, World Game, and other assessment tools. When booking an appointment for assessment at Gifted Institute, the specific assessment tools to be administered will be determined based on the initial clarifying/introductional interview.

A written statement can, of course, always be arranged if desired.

The institute offers counseling and training in test interpretation, and we also provide guidance to PPR, doctors, psychiatric departments, municipalities, case workers, and professionals in schools and institutions to better equip them in supporting gifted children and adolescents.

  • Vi har været hos Gifted Institute med begge vores drenge, fra de var henholdsvis 7 og 11 år. De har været nervøse over at tale med fagpersonale andre steder, men har altid været meget trygge ved Grith og Johnnie. De har altid glædet sig. Det har været så afgørende, at instituttet er hjemligt. For børnene har det været fuld af sjov, en afslappet og tryg stemning, og de har aldrig været sat i en situation, hvor de skulle sidde ret op og ned overfor en med kittel og computer. Grith går ind i børnene med træsko på. Det er ret unikt.

  • Med et barn i mistrivsel, flere skoleskift, skoleværing, angst og lavt selvværd var alt muligt forsøgt og prøvet! Uden dog at føle at have fundet den egentlige årsag, den rette hjælp eller forståelse for de udfordringer vores datter stod med. Men ved et tilfælde blev vi anbefalet at kontakte Gifted Institute og fra den ene dag til den anden stod vi et nyt og langt mere trygt, oplyst og afklaret sted end vi har stået i alle de mange år vores datter har været i mistrivsel. Vi anede ikke at høj begavelse kunne spænde ben for et barns trivsel. Vi taler nu om, et FØR og EFTER mødet med Gifted Institute.

  • Vores datter er normalt ikke glad for at gå med fremmede, men da hun skulle ind til World Game testen, fulgte hun med Grith som det mest naturlige i verden. Der er noget hos dem, som børn bare føler sig trygge ved. Vi forældre er begge læger, og har nok en ret videnskabelig tilgang. Så vi var lidt spændte på World Game testen. Vi fik en udførlig forklaring på hvad World Game viste og baggrunden for testen. Efter testen kunne Grith 100 procent spot on fortælle hvordan vores datter er. Det hele passede, og der var ikke noget forkert.

  • Vores søn har været ved Grith og Johnnie i forskellige anledninger, og kan godt lide, at det er i private rammer. Han vil gå rigtig langt, hvis han kan mærke, at dem han er hos, kan lide ham. Den oplevelse får han hos Grith og Johnnie samt Bedste. Han slappede af med det samme, han kom derhen den første gang. Grith er god til at fange børnene/de unge hvor de er, og det har stor betydning. Vores dreng er ligeledes tryg ved Johnnie, som han føler er rar, rolig og forstår ham. Vores søn har været med på drengecamps hos Grith og Johnnie - det har været fuldstændig fantastisk.
