Professionals
Gifted Institute specializes in giftedness and well-being. Our vision is that all individuals should be approached based on their individual experiences and unique challenges, and our purpose is to enhance understanding of gifted and twice- and multiexceptional children, youth, and adults in school, administrative, and family settings. To offer the most qualified help to all who reach out to us, we have various professionals affiliated with us, each of whom are specialists in their field. This way, we can provide broad and qualified assistance.
Gifted Institute focuses on gifted children and youth. These gifted children and youth need to be identified, recognized, supported with appropriate educational strategies, and challenged within suitable learning environments to thrive and gain the most benefit from their potential. Early identification, in particular, is crucial for the child's well-being.
The professionals surrounding these children play a crucial role. There is an increasing awareness in society about the group of gifted children, which fortunately contributes to a steadily growing interest. Gifted Institute has extensive experience in how identification can take place and how professionals can work to establish the right framework for recognition and to meet and teach children and youth in a way that realizes their potential and allows them to develop in a state of well-being.
Gifted Institute offers services to a wide range of professionals. We possess the necessary knowledge to advise and disseminate information to educators, teachers, PPR consultants, psychologists, psychiatrists, case workers, and family counselors, as well as to professionals in schools, administration, state, or municipality who seek knowledge and guidance in meeting individuals with giftedness.
This can be in the form of assistance in individual cases where children and youth need to be identified, recognized, and supported, or it can be counseling sessions, courses, workshops, and more. Gifted Institute can tailor services and recommends an initial interview to identify needs for guidance and assistance.

“Not long ago I was contacted by two frustrated parents. Their child was incredibly unhappy in his everyday life and her learning curve was rapidly decreasing. Privately they had had the girl tested at Gifted Institute by Johnnie Rasmussen and wanted us to start collaborating with Grith Tschorn, who cooperated closely with the family.
It turned out to be the start of some new and incredibly competent collaborators, whom I no doubt will use in the future. Our insight at the school with regard to the gifted students is minimal. A lack of insight which was about to have severe consequences for the student in question. Via meetings, interim goals, and counselling from Grith, we made a plan of action which got a student who was prone to school avoidance and unhappiness back to school. My meeting with Grith affirmed my belief in how important it is that we are open when meeting with professionals. And how important it is that we work together with professionals that know how we can help these children. As a school our most important goal must be to make sure our children are happy and thriving.
Children who are thriving are better at learning. We must therefore never forget to look at the child from all angles necessary, when they show signs of unhappiness.”
