Mentoring program

When the institute hosts camps and weekend events for gifted children and youth, we clearly see how much the participating children enjoy interacting with the older helpers. The same is true for our Busy Brains programs, where the teaching is always carried out by youth whom Gifted Institute has trained in collaboration with the Center for the Advancement of Noesis.

Gifted Institute has therefore developed a mentoring program aimed at gifted children and youth who lack someone to identify with in their daily lives.

The mentoring program is initiated based on a clarifying conversation, which can be initiated by either the child's parents, case worker, or similar. Based on this conversation, the child is assigned a mentor from Gifted Institute who is deemed to be the best possible match. The scope and content of the program are tailored to the child's needs in collaboration with the parents or other caregivers or the child's case worker. Often it will be part of a MyBrain course.

The institute's mentors are themselves gifted and receive ongoing supervision in their work from one of the institute's psychologists.

The mentoring program is a customized service, meticulously crafted to address the unique circumstances and individual needs of the child. The program specifically targets those who struggle with social engagement, personal initiation, or experiencing significant barriers to participating in everyday activities.

Such challenges might stem from various complex factors, including anxiety, school avoidance, or other psychological and social obstacles that make venturing beyond their comfort zone particularly overwhelming.

Gifted Institute continuously develops new and exciting events and offerings aimed at gifted children, adolescents, and adults.
