When everything crumbles and your child is extremely unhappy. When you are standing with a feeling of powerlessness and a lack of understanding from your surroundings, including from professionals and your own social circle, it is deeply liberating to arrive at Gifted Institute, where you instantly feel seen, heard, and understood.

And that counts for both us as parents and especially for our son of 8, who from the very first meeting felt safe, seen, heard, and last but not least understood on a level where many others have failed. At Gifted Institute he was not seen as unruly, annoying, or dismissive, but as an exciting, interesting, and warm individual. Our son is still happily talking about the first time he had to help Grith at Gifted Institute. We ascribe it to the wealth of knowledge, experience, great interest and curiosity towards the field, that you feel from everyone you meet at the institute, when it is the reverse in our society of boxes, where gifted children stand out from the rest.

We are currently in a process, where we as parents and a family have to acquire new knowledge and understanding to be able to help our boy out of his misery. Every day we grow smarter, but it is two steps forward and one step back, and in this process we have a need for constant support and guidance to reach our goal. The goal is to get our son to thrive and teach him to be comfortable in his own skin and believe in his own worth and contributions to the community, and last but not least to believe in himself.

The support and guidance we get from Gifted Institute is invaluable. The institute has both the competencies, experience, and desire to show gifted children a new way forward, but also the compassion and humanity during a process which takes up so much space for children and their families.
