Boost

Boost is Gifted Institute's online group teaching program for gifted children and adolescents aged 10-15.

The goal of Boost is to enhance the experience of competence, autonomy, and community among gifted children and adolescents by:

• Meeting other gifted peers and forming equal relationships.
• Reflecting themselves in like-minded individuals.
• Gaining a language to express who they are and what characterizes them.
• Reflecting on and challenging their own and others' understandings of themselves and others in a group setting.
• Improving their self-regulation skills and communicating their needs effectively.

Our teaching approach centers on guided conversations designed to enhance self-understanding, exploring areas like overexcitabilities, socio-emotional learning, personal growth, and beyond. A fundamental aspect of our learning process empowers participants to co-create the course themes. The socio-emotional curriculum becomes dynamically relevant by directly incorporating participants' interests and aspirations. To spark curiosity and learning enthusiasm, we'll invite practitioners from diverse fields—art, philosophy, languages, music, sciences—who will join approximately monthly to provide participants with an inspirational boost. Each course begins with a physical Meet 'n Greet at Gifted Institute, bringing together participants and parents.

Our dedicated instructors are expertly trained in facilitated dialogue techniques and have completed Gifted Institute's specialized coaching program. Throughout the course, they receive continuous supervision from our educational psychologist, Johnnie Bruus Rasmussen, cand.psych.aut.
