Family in Dialogue

"Family in Dialogue" is Gifted Institute's online group program for parents of gifted children or adolescents. The course aims to provide parents with an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the dynamics at play in a family with gifted children and to develop new, shared patterns of behavior within the family. The foundation of the course is "Family in Dialogue," and conversation is indeed the focus - both in connection with the teaching and in the home assignments that the entire family works on during the break weeks.

Gifted Institute's psychologist, Johnnie Rasmussen, teaches the parent course. Johnnie has for many years worked with the conditions of gifted children and their reactions to poor well-being. Johnnie's experience in talking with gifted children, their families, and the professionals surrounding the children has given him extensive knowledge of the children's unique challenges. Johnnie works therapeutically with the target group and has received further education from, among others, Linda Silverman, Ph.D. and Michelle Kane, Ed.D. from the American Gifted Development Center.
