Tests and Assessment of Giftedness, Cognitive Profile, and Well-being

Being gifted or twice-exceptional is characterized by a unique way of experiencing the world and daily life. Identifying and uncovering strengths and weaknesses is the first step in helping youth and adults achieve well-being in their everyday lives. At Gifted Institute, we use various tests and questionnaires to assess well-being, cognitive profiles, and intelligence in the individuals who come to us. However, our primary tool is always an exploratory conversation.

Gifted and twice-exceptional youth and adults are at risk of developing unhelpful coping mechanisms and low self-esteem. This can trap them in harmful behavioral patterns, which can potentially lead to the development anxiety or depression. During exploratory conversations, gifted youth and adults are given the space to articulate both their frustrations and intentions.

In addition to these conversations, we have questionnaires and tests available as supplementary tools. These help identify specific strengths and challenges. We view questionnaires and tests as tools for dialogue rather than diagnostic instruments, using them as a foundation to better understand how challenges manifest in daily life and to refine strategies for minimizing those challenges.

Furthermore, we collaborate with other experts both locally and internationally. These specialists are proficient in our areas of work and in other fields where we might lack the necessary expertise.

The institute offers guidance and training to professionals regarding test interpretation. We also advise schools, PPR, doctors, psychiatric services, municipalities, case workers, and other professionals to better equip them for interactions with gifted individuals.

Depending on the challenge and identified strengths and weaknesses, we have numerous ways to provide assistance. Our primary focus is on well-being and giftedness, as well as managing associated challenges. We offer counseling sessions, educational programs, and camps that enhance self-understanding, including the ability and resources to cope with daily life.

At Gifted Institute, a wide range of tests is employed for the assessment of giftedness - including WPPSI, WISC-V, WAIS, BASC, OE, Beck Youth, ASRS, Raven, and World Game, as well as evaluations of self-esteem and the intensity of giftedness.
